A combination between massage and Yoga Nidra. To reach a meditative state of conciousness.
The first part of this session will be a massage. You can choose the parts you’d like to focus on, back and shoulders, legs and feet, you name it. Also, you may choose whether you like a relaxing or a more firm, deep tissue kind of style. One of the effects of a massage is that your body awareness will be enhanced. Which parts of your body feel relaxed and where do you feel tension or tightness? Are you able to let go of that stress just a little bit more?
The second part of the session will be a Yoga Nidra session. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that induces full-body relaxation and a deep meditative state of consciousness. It is also practiced lying down, with the aid of blankets and props to comfort and support your body. It is an ancient yogic technique described as “the sleep that awakens pure being.” Yoga Nidra guides you to the twilight place between awake and asleep where ultimate relaxation resides with an invitation to deeply connect with your inner world. Research highlights the effectiveness of Yoga Nidra in improving sleep, balancing the nervous system, healing psychological trauma, and managing chronic pain.
This massage-yoga Nidra combo is a perfect way to shift your awareness from the outside to your inner world. The session can be given in Dutch or English.
